NEW ZEALAND’s WORK TO RESIDENCE VISA
Once you are in New Zealand for two years, you may be eligible for residence status under the work to residence category.
This category is a great way to upgrade from a temporary work visa to residence visa. As a resident, you will be allowed to live in New Zealand indefinitely and have access to most of the public funded services.
There are two main types of Work to Residence visa which enable you to work in New Zealand and then, after working in the job for at least 24 months, apply for a resident visa.
- Work to Residence: Long Term Skill Shortage
- Work to Residence: Accredited Employer
Apart from these visas, if you are under an essential skills work visa, based on a skilled job, you may qualify for a residence visa under the Skilled Migrant Category.
